Good Friday
It’s Good Friday. The day we remember Jesus’ death on the cross as a sacrifice for our wrong doings. Someone asked me this week why we call this “good”. I’ve looked into it a bit more and my initial thoughts still stick. No one is sure of the origins of the phrase “Good Friday”. It’s thought that “good” in older English meant “holy” or that possibly at one time it was “God’s” Friday. Either way the name continues to ...

I like to go by the quote: “If God brings you to it, he will bring through it. “I will be done with high school in less than three months and I BELIEVE that this is the time that I need God ...

This is the second entry of the ongoing blog series, “What God’s up to in my life…” Read this incredible story of life change written by Tiffany Daniel //
Probably 6 or 7 months ago I wasn’t thinking about what God was doing in my life. I was thinking about what he wasn’t doing. I was at the end of a divorce, had lost my job, had moved for the second time in 6 months and was having health ...
What God’s up to in my life… // Josh Husmann
We’re starting a new blog series called, “What God’s up to in my life…”. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll have a few posts from people sharing what God doing right now in their family, work place, and personal life. I thought it’s only fair that I start.
The biggest thing God has taught me recently is consistency. How boring is that? I’ve always been a passionate and ambitious person that naturally connects with innovators and entrepreneurs. Even ...
Is Greed as Bad as Sexual Perversion?
My car was broken into on Sunday afternoon. I was eating lunch at Paradise Cafe when my car window was smashed and equipment, including my personal laptop, was stolen. It was 1 PM in a heavily populated area, but nobody saw or heard it.
There was a time when this would have driven me crazy. But planting a church and especially losing my son have forced me to realize what’s really important in life. Insurance will replace the ...
I’m not part of an existing church because…
We’ve been intentional about starting Mercy Road with a good number of people who either were not a part of a church or wouldn’t consider themselves Christians. I’d like to do a bit of research today…I created a Facebook poll of why people are not a part of an existing church. I’d love to hear a broad range of responses. It literally takes 30 seconds to respond. Could you help me spread this poll by posting it to Facebook?

Does this shirt make me look fat or is it just that I never work out and I eat bad food?
Earlier this week I invited two employees of Sun Tan City to worship with us at Mercy Road. Thanks for praying that God uses those invitations! I love the boldness with which people are chasing after God’s purposes. I heard a friend describing how he’d been talking to everyone at work about his faith and Mercy Road. I love it! Thanks for living differently!
I realized later how ironic it was that I invited employees from a tanning ...
It happens.
Sometimes life moves at the speed of light!
Today I’m sitting in the Mercy Road office thinking and dreaming of all that’s to come. The vision is HUGE! But it’s pretty crazy to reflect how far it’s come already. 18 months ago Mercy Road didn’t exist. A year ago it was just a few people at our house. 5 months ago there wasn’t even a regular worship service. This week 4 outposts are meeting in different locations around the ...
Painful Perseverance Can Lead to Spiritual Maturity!
This isn’t an anti-dentite post, but have you ever had a painful experience at the dentist?
I just saw the tweet of an incredible leader who’s spending a vacation day in 3 1/2 hours of dental surgery, including one implant. For those that don’t speak dentist, an implant is a permanent “fake” tooth. Only with today’s technology they “implant” a titanium rod directly into your jaw, finish the outer layer exactly like your previous tooth, and you ...
