Moved by Mercy Kids!
I’ve never been more moved by what’s happening with our Children’s Ministry! Last Sunday we challenged the kids to invite friends to start a new older elementary age class through 6th grade. I told them if they had 20 elementary age kids show up, I’d let them dye my hair. They were so excited! One girl invited her whole class at school. An 8 year old boy went DOOR-TO-DOOR in his neighborhood inviting kids! We had new kids on Sunday (more than I think we’ve ever had for that age) and it was exciting, but the kids were bummed because they didn’t reach the goal of 20.
Man, I was moved by the kids effort! How many of you reading this have ever gone door-to-door inviting people to church?! A life with God is always about faithfulness to Him and His purposes, not about outcome. I’m more proud of our kids than if there would have been 50 elementary age kids and the parents did all the work. So, I told the kids on Sunday that because of their faithfulness they can still dye this faux hawk pink and purple.
On Sunday, May 20 after the service they’ll be putting their salon skills to work and turning my hair pink and purple! Congrats to Mercy Kids!
