Road Trip 2010
Well our family all officially made it to Indiana. Lisa and Jake flew out a week ago and started getting things ready. My road trip was LONG and BORING with the exceptions of hanging with some really cool people.
After leaving “Dirty Nowhere” I drove all the way from Vegas to Denver on Thursday. It was a lot of driving. While I was in the middle of Utah (there is nothing in souther Utah…sorry my Utah friends) I stopped at a gas station, threw some trash away, filled up with gas, got in my car to drive off…and then realized I had thrown my car key away with the trash! I spent the next 35 minutes rooting through a trash can in the middle of nowhere Utah trying to find my key that I THOUGHT I had thrown away! I finally found it at the bottom of the trash can. Needless to say my Utah experience was even dirtier than my stop in Vegas.
I did eventually make it to Denver where I got to hangout with this guy:
That’s Brad Musso, the all-time leading receiver in Divison III football. He’s also a good friend and partner in ministry. He’s currently getting his M.Div. at Denver Seminary. He’s also the guy that brought the gorilla and banana suit for those that know the Paseo Colorado story.
I crashed there for the night in Denver and Brad introduced me to Lucile’s for breakfast – Amazing! If you’re ever in denver and want the best breakfast in town I highly recommend it. You can check out Lucile’s here.
It was great hanging with the legendary Musso and I’m excited for how God is using him. I left Denver and headed to Lincoln, Nebraska where I spent the night with this guy and his family:
That fine specimen of man is the one and only Ricky Kennedy. Ricky and I go back as far as Brad and I. The two of us were co-counselors at Kanakuk Christian Sports Kamp years ago (yes with a K). Ricky is one of the craziest guys I’ve ever met and one of the most passionate for Jesus. I had a blast hanging with him and his wife Kristy (and I met their son Carson! – who was born the same month as Jake). We played some Settlers of Catan (the #1 German board game of 1995), which I dominated the first game and let Ricky win the second : ). It was awesome hanging with them. If you’re ever in Lincoln you’ll have to check out the big Kingdom work the Kennedy’s are doing at First Free Lincoln.
They treated me to a delicious Greenfield breakfast and then I drove all the way to Indianapolis where I met this beautiful woman and hung out with this stud!
It’s been great getting to Indianapolis. We could use your prayers now as we try to see this new place as home. A big thank you to everyone in Indiana who have already been helping us get moved in and welcomed us! We can’t wait to hang with you all soon.

Sounds good brother I’ll look forward to hanging out soon!
Glad you and your family made it to “The Crossroads of America” safely! If you find some free time and want to dust off that tennis racket to play some tennis, I welcome the competition:)
Brother let’s play! I’ve played once in 7 years but I’ll still smoke you! Have a racket I can use? There’s courts right by us.
